Admission & applications
DAAD’s admission resources can help you investigate qualification recognition. The university makes the final admission decision. Check whether your selected course requires German or English evidence and whether applications go directly to the institution or through a specified application service.

Your starting checklist
- Academic certificates and transcripts for your previous study.
- Identity documents and the language evidence requested by the course.
- References, a statement, portfolio, or research proposal where required.
- A calendar for admission, scholarship, and document deadlines.
Requirements vary by institution and course. Check the official programme page before preparing or paying for documents.
Tuition & living costs
Check the exact university and programme fee rather than assuming every course is tuition-free. Include semester contributions, housing, insurance, food, transport, and travel. DAAD’s finance guide is a starting point; check current amounts at the institution and official authorities.
